Giving old and rusty ice-skating boots a completely new identity and purpose. From the characteristics of the object of supporting, cutting, slicing, and stabbing I transformed it into a fighting weapon which would then be desired again. This in turn formed a modern martial art based around the weapon, ‘Respect’ fighting. Publicity for the martial art in the form of a poster.
Both Respect fighters are required to wear protective stab proof clothing to prevent any serious injury to either fighter. The aim is solely to damage the top layer of the protective garments in the chest area of each fighter. Resulting rips in the facbric determine who is to be respected out of the two fighters.
